Here at Nathan Paul we love horror movies so we wanted to come up with a list of are favorite horror movies coming in late 2024 usually in the month of October is when the best horror movies getting released at theater. Whether you love slasher movies, found footage, gore, or psychological this list has something for everyone.
1. SMILE 2
Smile was released in September 2022 and grossed 200 million dollars worldwide and know we are getting the sequel Smile 2 in October 2024.
Smile 2 tracks Joel as he attempts to escape the devil after learning of Rose’s passing and taking up her inquiry. He has just seven days to save his own life, so pressure and scrutiny are great. A worldwide pop singer on a world tour, Skye Riley, is the target of the demon’s horror in the meantime.
Joel’s attempt to pass on the curse and Skye’s race against time to save herself may both be covered in the follow-up. Though not much is known about the movie, there are rumors that it may be a prequel exploring the curse’s beginnings.
2. TERRIFIER 3
If you have seen Terrifier or Terrifier 2 you know what you are going to get from Art the Clown a brutal massacre and lots of gore.
Terrifier 3 is going to be released in October 11 2024 the story of “Terrifier 3” centers on Sienna and her brother, who, having survived Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, are fighting to rebuild their lives. They make an effort to let go of the tragedies of the past and embrace the Christmas spirit as the holiday season draws near.
3. RETURN TO SILENT HILL
In October 2024 Return To Silent Hill will be release in theaters and is based on Silent Hill 2 videogame by Konami. When James returns to Silent Hill in pursuit of his lost love after receiving an enigmatic letter. There, he discovers a once-recognizable village and confronts horrifying characters from both the old and the new, leading him to doubt his own sanity.
4. MAXXXINE
Ti West wrote and directed the next American slasher movie MaXXXine. It is the last part of the X trilogy, which starts with X and ends with Pearl. Starring in the movie is Mia Goth, who plays Maxine again. Maxxxine was released in July 5, 2024 and has grossed 22 million so far.
5. NEVER LET GO
Never Let Go is scheduled to release in September 20 and is directed and produced by Alexandre Aja and stars Halle Berry.
Never Let Go revolves around a mother and her twin sons, who are imprisoned in their home by a sinister entity. They must rely on their physical connection and strong family ties to keep safe, staying bound to one another with ropes. But when one son starts to doubt the existence of the evil, their togetherness breaks down, resulting in a horrific struggle for survival in this horror/psychological thriller.
6. SAW XI
Can’t believe we are coming up to 11 movie in the saw franchise. Saw XI was scheduled to be released on this September however it’s getting delayed a full year.
Given that Saw X hinted at Cecilia’s survival, the upcoming film may choose to veer from the series’ usual didactic approach by featuring the con artist pursuing Jigsaw in an attempt to exact revenge. Even if Kramer did manage to have the upper hand on her by the conclusion of the 2023 sequel, her numerous global connections would still make her a terrifying threat. It might also work well as a continuation of Jigsaw’s ideas from the ninth film, in which he muses over the moral implications of his games.
7. IN A VIOLENT NATURE
Chris Nash is the writer and director of the 2024 Canadian slasher movie In a Violent Nature. The movie centers on a silent murderer who preys on youngsters in the woods of Ontario. The events are primarily seen from the killer’s point of view. Available to watch on AMC+, Philo, Prime Video, Shudder, Sling TV.
8. THE SUBSTANCE
Directed by Coralie Fargeat, The Substance is a 2024 social horror movie starring Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid. The story revolves around Demi Moore’s character Elizabeth Sparkle, a fading celebrity who is fighting for her popularity and youth. She finds “The Substance,” an enigmatic liquid that claims to be able to make her younger and solve all of her troubles.
Elizabeth’s younger self, Sue (played by Margaret Qualley), leaves her body in a horrifying metamorphosis after injecting herself with The Substance. Every seven days, the two Elizabeths had to swap bodies, with one of them sleeping and the other living her life.
9. DUST BUNNY
Bryan Fuller is the director of the upcoming horror thriller Dust Bunny. The eight-year-old girl at the center of the story thinks her family was devoured by a monster under her bed. She asks her fascinating neighbor for assistance in confronting and eliminating the monster123.
David Dastmalchian, Sigourney Weaver, and Mads Mikkelsen are the film’s main stars.
10. STRANGERS CHAPTER 2
The second part in the epic horror trilogy is slated to arrive sometime in fall 2024. In “The Strangers: Chapter 2,” a couple is forced to seek sanctuary in a secluded Airbnb after their car breaks down while they are traveling for their honeymoon. Three strangers wearing masks threaten them from dusk until daylight. The film picks up where the first one left off, with the three masked strangers killing a second couple in a remote trailer park.
